Almost 1 year ago I changed my setting to LPS mode. I was on my way to the hospital very very sick and lost the schedule. I couldn't remember what it was either so just selected LPS. I ended up there for weeks Plus was down for weeks after and before going ! I lost a lot of corals at that time! Very long story, other factors like just had a huge order come in before I got sick as well and was barely able to tend to tank. .
I found out from manufacturer not to long ago that LPS setting is pretty low(or so they say) I thought it was to high and why they died because it shut off in whites! I had no par meter at the time.
The LPS mode is supposed to run 15 hours and the peak is 3 whites 60 B 60B 60B 8 uv 0 red and green. for 7 hours. Seems excessively long and probably why i am experiencing diatoms on my new frag racks that has killed off a lot of small polyps count zoa that I recently bought! It seems to only run 14 though and now shuts off @10:39 for some reason!
Previous to that I was running 12 w 72 72 72 0 for 8 hours with 2 hour ramp up and down. For a total of 12
I want to make a new setting but petrified to make the change! I dont like that it shuts off at 0 50 50 50 0 and it runs that for 3 hours! Looks very white to me and gives me no viewing time of low blues and seeing the corals florescence! is that ramp rime being its 3 hours supposed to go to low blues then off? My ramp down and up was 0 1 1 1 0.
After running that schedule for over a year I have no idea what to do and where to start at and to be honest my par meter isnt matching up to what they say the setting are! For instance the par a few hours before it shuts off is only 50 dead center about 12 inches down from top of tank.
My frag tank smat farms are set at 0 whites 60 blues and I get double that par at 12 inches down. Very shallow new frag tank so have to set par low.
I was hoping to hear from anyone who has success or uses LPs mode for these lights and if so did you manually change the hours or anything?
I am totally pertified to try to change it for so many reasons. For one I had a heck of a time although that was 4 years ago and my first LED beside a strip light!
I would also be very interested in know other peoples settings especially abPlus . I dont know if I should start lower at first or what to do since the corals have been used to this setting for quite a while. I have had some losses from recent corals coming in though!
I wish I could sit home and check par every hour and try to match a setting but shut off in low blues!
I tried to attach what they sent but couldnt but could type it all out to anyone running that program to see if it matches what they are running!
I appreciate anyone that read through this very long thread. lol I need some help asap!
