I love it when I see coral that is different from the rest in someone's tank, from having colors that are nothing like the rest or a species of coral that I have never seen before. Do you have any coral that would be considered unusual in a tank? Photo Credit: @JMacedo

I've never seen or heard of anyone else that has a blue ridge coral. Its a soft coral that grows a hard skeleton, the skeleton is blue from the iron it absorbs from the water. Its classified as an octocoral, only one of two types to grow a calcium skeleton, and the only member in the Family Helioporidae. While its a soft coral, its up near my acro's, it loves high light and high flow, very easy to keep. This has been in my tank for about 3 years. Very unique and uncommon coral.
