+1 on DIY plywood stand. I've built a plywood stand but it was for smaller tanks. Curious how much wait a plywood stand can really support. Also want to see what the best way to build them is.

I just saw this.

Check out my build thread. That is just 3/4" plywood. You can build stands from plywood that are very open and support literally tons of weight. Been doing it for years. NEVER had one fail.

If you need help planning, let me know.

Along the lines of plywood stand vs dimensional lumber (2x4, 2x6, RocketEngineer style) I'd like to see some good stress tests & results. Amount of deflection, point of failure, etc., for the 'open front' beam everyone wants.
72" knot free, kiln dried 2x6 beam vs 72" 3/4" x 5.5" plywood beam (various grades of plywood). Maybe even doubled 3/4" plywood, glued & screwed, for comparison.
At what pressure do they deflect too much? How much is too much? Point load or distributed load - either is valuable info.
Feel free to expand on the theme - you get the idea!

Would love to see a DIY automated frozen food feeder that keeps the food cold enough to not foul for at least a day or 2.
