just watching my thread evolve, not going to mention the answer I have from my companies engineer group to stop the acrylic from bowing. But still like the discussion on polish, this would make poly more feasible due to increased cost.

Please let us know. It is your thread after all. Is it an actually viable idea?

Used more acrylic to oppose the warping of the acrylic top. It does effect the way it looks from the top. Will see how this works. I'm a newbie using the weldon 4, it has some small bubbles in the joints, if this does not work I will just get the polycarbonate.

No pics, but nothing changed. Will say after 24 hour dry time, its solid as hell. Tried bending it but its very stout. will have to make a slight cut out for my overflow weir and notch for the powerhead wires. These should not effect the strength but its not wet yet. On a side note, still goofing around with the off cut pieces and weldon 4, looks like this could be a auxiliary overflow that comes out to be about a gallon, for my skimmer for when I'm fishing in Florida this year. Pics don't show the lid on it, but it has one.

Due to many set backs and delays, my tank still has no water in it. All I need is sand and water for the 40 breeder. Then the top will be tested when wet. but I will say it is very stout with the support added, Probably could have made the support 1/2 inch tall instead of 3/4.
