Have a pair of B/W clownfish in QT after noticing some discolouration on the female and head shaking behaviour from the male.
I suspected flukes, brook also crossed my mind, however the discolouration was very mild and did not appear to be similar to the mucous seen in brook. I treated with a 150 ppm formaldehyde bath followed by transfer to a sterile tank at 1.024 sg and 24 °C with 25 ppm formaldehyde maintained for 11 days. Both fish tolerated the treatment well, with the males behaviour resolving and no discolouration appearing.
I then started prazipro two days ago as more of an extra safeguard and the discolouration on the female has appeared to have worsened, especially around the head area. The male still shows normal behaviour and colouration I am now wondering if it is indeed flukes or if I have something else on my hands.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
