Hey guys. I see a bubble area on my tank and 1 crab died today. I check under microscope and see this. Those are Dinos?

Thank you what can I do? I had problems with them, I just did a black out for 3 days and they gone but now return

Dino’s multiply fast so the trick is to target numbers every day.

Many lift into the water column at dark and can be targeted with UV, lowering numbers.

Change socks (or whatever you trap stuff with) every day just before lights on.

Lightly vacuum sand surface when lights on through a sock, but keep the water and return.

These things lower the population of Dino’s.

Second part at at the same time, we want to discourage them multiplying.

Check carefully that all parameters are on point and stable, especially Alk, Nitrate and Phosphate. Put them both in the traditional slots and maintain.

This allows the good guys stuff to, over say a month, outcompete this bad guy Dino’s.

They will go on there own this way and will not return until your water becomes either unstable, or lack the nutrients availability to keep good guys fed.

I have never blacked out my tank when fixing.
