Hey man,
What kind of plumbing did you need to connect to the 1 Inch Drain?? I would like to get rid of my stock valve, which I don't need anymore, because I have one in my control room downstairs.

Sweet!!! Will check this out later....

Thanks brother!!

My pleasure! The swap is super simple, I think I bought the RedSea #42221 from RedSea. But I had to call them to place the order.

I searched for part 42221 and this came up as well - https://www.fishtanksdirect.com/red-sea-sump-pump-return-connector-16mm.aspx

My RedSea valve ran for probably 2 years before I did the swap, it got to a point that I was adjusting it almost daily. I never have to touch the new valve so in my opinion it was a great decision!

Is that piece in the first link a 3/4 inch barb fitting? I have an extra one. If it is, I originally but then to convert from 5/8 to 3/4 for return pump going up to tank.

That is the OEM return barb, I did swap mine out to a 3/4" barb.

1 - 3/4" barb for return pump
2 - stock emergency drain
3 - 3/4" to 1" upgraded drain

Gotcha,
So wouldn't that reduction down to 3/4 inch reduce the water flow a bit?? Compared to keeping it 1 inch all the way through?

I probably does, there is no way to use a 1" adapter, at least not to my knowledge. Even the RedSea adapter was reduced there somewhat.

The bigger clown was my very first fish. Recently it has become aggressive, particularly when it comes to new additions. It wasn’t an easy decision but I had to move them to the sump. Not sure if I’ll try them again in the display, I want to add some more fish and I can’t have these two preventing that.

Not sure what you see, but the last pic in your post has a purple bubble tip kind of thing.

Sorry, I misunderstood! The bottom picture is a florida ricordea, it is orange I took the picture with the blue lights on so it looks different on camera!
