Take it slow! Let that new rock mature and in a few months try a piece or two of SPS! Itll come!!

Great pickups! POTO is great! I had to hide my wallet when they listed the Blotched Anthias the other day!

I agree with you! That rock was in my sump for 3 weeks and. I did add some more matrix to help out.

I’ve never bought from POTO, but I know I wanted some hammers and torches and they have them! And a good selection of them!

Looks like you're about to split your sump and put in a refugium. Hope I didn't spill the beans. What are you going to use for lighting?

The kessil h80!

The kessil h80!
I was using the same light but thought it wasn't powerful enough as my chaeto died, so I upgraded and got the H160 which I think I had too bright and it fried my chaeto. My next struggle was getting it to grow properly until I stumbled on a bunch of threads talking about adding an iron additive if you're trying to grow a macro algae. After I started dosing iron, problem solved. Might want to look into it before you have the same problem as me. Randy Holmes-Farley has a couple threads on it and how to make your own iron supplement. Worth a quick search.

Those hammer look really nice. Can’t wait to see the new rocks completed.

Thanks! I added some more pond matrix to my sump last night, I should have enough in the sump already to not disrupt the system I just want to make sure! I rinse the new pedestal piece last night and should be adding it into my sump this weekend. It will live there for a week or 2 and move into my display.

Will you be leaving the pond matrix in the sump or will you remove it after the rock has been in the system for awhile?

Blue tide acrylics built me a refugium kit, can’t wait to get it installed! Should have it in my hands soon! Picked up the kessil h80 a few weeks ago!

Swapped out a piece of rock from my display I had in the sump for the second Marco rocks pedestal rock. I loved the first one so I decided to get a second.

Also added a little more pond matrix to the tank and picked up a @Bulk Reef Supply reactor to eventually run the matrix through a reactor. Just have to figure out how to modify my current manifold to run the matrix and carbon.

The H80 is a good like for the fuge. I use it for mine. You will like the addition of a fuge. Great for controlling nutrients. If it's growing, it's working.

Thanks for your input! I am anxious to get it setup!

How are you liking the radions P?

I love the new lights! They’ve actually really motivated me to make more changes I’ve procrastinated on!

@pelphrey I think you're thinking of Emerald Crabs. Excellent way to go. More biology and less technology. Once the algae is gone they will scavenge for uneaten food and poop. Completely reef safe.
