Hi Adam,

I'd like to know if Deltec 1000i would be okay for a 160g + 50g sump heavy bioload mixed reef system which is LPS dominated with a few SPS or 1500i would be more suitable?

BR,
Dino

HI there,

Thanks for the post. The 1000 would be a good fit on just over 200 gallons heavy stocked. Especially if your more into keeping lps. I think the 1500 would be a little more than you really need but not grossly, so if you like a little wiggle room then the 1500 would be a good call.

I've got one on my 300. Gallon back up system, lightly stocked with fish and it's a great fit.

Pleas let me know if you have any other questions at all

Love my 1000i on my 120 + 30 tank.

I feed 6-8 cubes a day for a heavy bio-load, and it has no problems keeping up. I do use 4x4 filter pads instead of socks that get tossed every few days.

Holy cow that’s a lot of feeding. I’ve been doing ~2 cubes a day on my 300g!

The Anthias are pigs. If I skip a feeding they splash the water near the Innovative Marine defroster feeding thingy tube and I end up with water dripping on the outside of the glass.

1000i has ajustable DC pump xi is a 120v line voltage pump. I just got the 1000i and am going through the 48 hr break in period. it is on its lowest setting and it is still skimming and the cup scrapper is an awesome feature too.
