Hi all,

Unsure exactly which sub-forum to put this in, so starting here.

Returning to/restarting in the hobby by selling off all my current aquariums, and starting fresh with a D-D Reef Pro 600s. I'll be using a vectra S2 return pump, and then currently I'm considering either a pair of AI neros or ecotech mps. I haven't built an aquascape yet, but will be aiming for something quite minimal to allow a few acropora colonies to grow in well as it'll be sps dominant with the few lower light/flow spots being used for some lps from current setups.

The question here is where to locate the powerheads. I have never owned a cube as large as a 2ft square base, nor a tank quite as shallow. The reef pro series do have a dry compartment "inside" the tank, beside the weir for cable management/powerhead mounting. Would it be best to have one there and another acting at 90 degrees, or to have a pair on the opposite side panels of the tank? Should they be at the same vertical level or offset? Is there another, better option than 2 powerheads?

Any opinions appreciated before I get a fresh start in the hobby.
