No I have YouTube premium so I can watch him on the TV lol
Aha. That makes more sense. He's not Alex steete level famous yet...
Headed here for some plants for the office tank! I'm thinking a Catherine or Velvet 3 Color Buce, Wendtii, AR Mini, and maybe a Juncus Repens.

I like the pink flamingo crypt too.

I got Wendtii, Subwasertang, Velvet 3 Color, Anubias Nana, and AR Mini. I also grabbed a couple of Chocolate Cherry Shrimp and my wife got a Swiss Cheese Monstera. Now we're at a Take-a-Plant-Leave-a-Plant stand leaving a Pothos cutting. Not sure what she's grabbing yet...

After buying some small rocks to use, gf and I stumbled across a rock depot thing while we were doing a 10 mile walk across the city. They only sold increments of 0.5 cubic feet but it was dirt cheap. The scape materials for this 15 gallon are probably the most comical overbuy of my fishkeeping career. Gonna do mostly soil then blend with small rocks into white sand in a portion of the foreground with a thin layer of soil beneath. Feet for scale lol

Also wood is now soaking in rodi water! JUST fits in a 5 gallon bucket. Super stoked on it.

Driftwood is the next thing I need to find. I'll probably grab some cholla skeleton from the desert. Won't need much for an 8" * 12" footprint...

Ok let me warn you those rocks LEACH a whole bunch of sediment you’ve got to rinse them off multiple times and thoroughly. Like more than like lets your random rocks. Are those going to be the substrate accent for the foreground?

It's an over buy to be sure, but the alternative is paying 3x what you paid to get just the amount you needed. And now you have more for the next tank. I don't know how much substrate you will see when everything grows in, but either way, it will look amazing.

Exactly! It was a ridiculous deal in comparison

Honestly the wood is leeching tannins but not nearly as badly as I thought i4 would. Must have been presoaked in some capacity. After almost 24 hours the water only looks like this. Tank will be running purigen so not a lot of worries.

Keep that wood soaking long. That’s the first wave of the tannins. There’s a second and third that always manages to happen…in the tank lol.

If you can boil it, that will pull them out quickly.

All the equipment arrived today minus the bio filtration media which is in the shed. Hygger lights especially look SLICK. Scraper, lights, purigen, bottle ato, and heater.

I'm contemplating setting up a CO2 reactor at some point as well as buying some plant fertilizer. Will get it all up and running first then guage.

I'm prepping to buy the stuff for a DIY CO2 for mine. I'ma use those 12g cartridges since it's only a 5 gallon and won't need much.
How big a difference does monitoring with a drop detector and co2 adding make?
