Ok so I have a question, I got 2 of these $2k worth RODI systems for a steal and they both work (no issues)

I wanted to know if I could stack altogether the 4 RODI membrane onto one unit and have this monster of unit as a last stage

With having the other one without the RODI members be left with only the cartridges be the first unit the water goes through for filtration.

Will this be over kill?
And if so would it even make a difference in RODI purity?

I have a Reef Pure 6 stage boosted RODI unit I paid $1500 for. I don’t see why this wouldn’t work but, I only have a Waterbox 25 Gallon lol. And a replacement kit for the 200GPD x2 membranes, carbon, di resin is worth more than my aquarium. If I could go back in time, I wouldn’t change anything so I guess if you’re prepared to eventually notice a TDS and get 2 probably $400 to $600 replacement maintenance kits somewhere down the line then that’s the only drawback I can really see.

Would it produce wastewater even? I guess once it does start producing wasterwater, the first filter system is done? Or maybe there’s always a bit of clean wastewater coming out at all times? Idk?

The purpose of a RODI system is to get your water down to 0 TDS. Once it's at 0 there's no point in filtering it more. It's not going to get any purer by daisy chaining 2 systems together. However you can daisy chain to increase output, which these units look to be already doing with the dual membranes.
If they both work and are making 0 TDS each then I would just keep them separate units and then run them at the same time if you really need that amount of output.

The last stage of RODI water is the DI resin which removes the final few TDS. At this point you should be 0ppm TDS.

To put the RO super filter you make last seem to me to do nothing.
what if I connected both units like @Aquavaj .. said ? Would it work in cases such as the first units cartridges go bad and doesn’t give 0 tds while that water traveling and having the secondary unit catching the first units fault cartridges(for instance 4tds….?)
