For those who are actively culturing your own Copepod colonies . . . How often and how much do you add to your Reef Tank?

My culture has exploded (population not physically blowing up lol) and I'm now feeding one full "Specimen Cup" of Copepods every-single-night to my 120g system. I don't have a Mandarin so I'm not trying to maintain a high population for that reason but I've always felt like a healthy Copepod population is an important part of the CUC and the whole SW Ecosystem.

Thoughts? ideas?

I feed weekly whatever I have from 2 Poseidon jars. Imo there is no such thing as too many pods :)

great post- yea pods are apparently great for your tank as well as the phytoplankton that feed them. Its nice to see thousands of them on your glass suddenly.

It depends on your tank size I would say. For my 65ish gallon tank I dont think I need to add any more pods for weeks. As long as I see them everywhere, I dont need to buy more.

Thanks for the replies . I'm going to keep up my regimen as I'm confident that the Pod-Pulation will sustain or fall in direct proportion to their food supply and predation.

Never underestimate a mandarin fish that appears slow and consumes billions of pods you cultivated for months in a matter of days.
