I've never even seen a walleye in person. That's one of those yankee fish. We go for Largemouths down here in Texas

And especially here in Houston, coastal fishing is big. Speckled trouts, reds, flounders, etc.

I understand they typically don't get as big up there though because of the colder weather. They only grow when it's warmer so they have a shorter growth window up there.
