Nope, I rubbed it last night, pan makes it easy to contain my mess and just toss once it's on the pit. Just got it on.

You should try some smoke tubes. They really work great

Haven't heard of those. What are the?

Screened metal tubes you can fill them with pellets or wood chips. I use pellets. Then I set them in my propane grill for ten minutes to get them started. They smoke real good for about 4 hours. I use 2 of them and the smoke pours out the whole time. You get a much deeper smoke flavor with them

Huh. May have to look into that. I have an offset stick burner, so I'll have to figure out if it would work with that. Don't see why not. Haven't had a propane grill in a few years since my last one rusted out.
