I believe so, the one with the lighthouse. At the north edge of pompano.

For those of you who may not know, summer is when many corals undergo a mass spawning event. Tonight was the spawning for a major reef building species Montastrea cavernosa. It was also the first time ever that a mass spawning event was documented on a mesophotic reef. This dive took place in the Flower Garden Banks in the Gulf of Mexico and the entire dive was live streamed and also recorded. I’ve attached the link so that anybody interested can tune in and watch. They should also be streaming another spawning happening tomorrow so this could be really exciting! Hope you all enjoy!

I believe they are quite adaptable, given the changes aren’t too dramatic.ITT, we learn that the oldest group of organized animals on Earth is adaptable
Love to see what you are doing here, especially for a 2nd generation Native, and I am almost 48, lol. The research and love you show for corals and our reefs gives me a breath of fresh air. My grandparents spent summers, for many years, vacationing in the keys, I was lucky myself to grow up and see the reefs back then. Have been a saltwater lover all my life, and greatly appreciate you and your team's passion for restoring our valuable reefs, no doubt ensuring generations ahead are afforded this beauty, and clean waters
Cheers
I’m glad you are enjoying and appreciating what we do! If you happens to still live in Florida you can always come see the Visitors center and look at the tanks in person as well as learn about the rest of our research! Thank you for the great compliments!Forget to mention, awesome job with those corals, simply amazing to see
I can’t imagine how cool that must be to see in person! You are truly lucky!I was lucky enough to witness this firsthand in the late 60’s. My father and I ran a dive charter boat out of Port Arthur, Tx specializing in oilfield platform diving and weekend trips to the Flower Gardens. I am an old man now but I still vividly remember the event. Picture of me getting ready to throw the marker buoy on the Flower Gardens.
Beautiful sticks Brandon!New stags for my Acro garden!
Thanks! I think it’s just a trick of the LEDs honestly. Under the 10k T5s that purple color totally disappears and they look exactly like the characteristic Florida Staghorn.Nice update pics! I see purplish polyps on the stags. Were they always like this or did they develop that purplish hue while you were growing them?
Lol they’re fuzzy aren’t they!?!
I don’t think there’s a coral under there. (╭ರᴥ•́)
Cool. Do you feed them? I see their polyps are out during your lighting period. Thanks! I think it’s just a trick of the LEDs honestly. Under the 10k T5s that purple color totally disappears and they look exactly like the characteristic Florida Staghorn.

I feed the tank as a whole I guess. There are around 15 fish that get 4 double rounds of pellets a day from an ehiem feeder and a mix of 8 different frozen foods a day. Then maybe 2 or 3 times a week I feed a mix of phytoplankton and powdered zooplankton to the tank. Do the acros eat any of it? Your guess is as good as mine but I’m sure they benefit in the way of all the fish poop!Cool. Do you feed them? I see their polyps are out during your lighting period.
Thanks! Me too! It doesn’t happen often but it’s always so cool when my blue chromis swim through the branches.Wow lots of new growth! Bueatiful. I love stags.
