Can I get some feedback on my aquascape?

If you dont have enough rock, egg crate is commonly used to build up the aquascape.

Forgive my derailing of the OP.

The sand should provide enough stability and protection if its deep enough. You can probably get away with 2 inches but i like 3 to 4 inches of sand.

I used to like sand, but i recently gone bare bottom and havent looked back. Coralline grows good on the bottom, snails eat the algae, heavy detritus is easy removed during water changes, my turnover rate can be hivh without the risk of sand blowing around, etc.

For bare bottom if you are scared of the glass and want protection, go starboard; its reefsafe but expensive.

Ok, my wife instructed me on this one. Yes No? Everything is attached with fiberglass rods running inside the rocks so it is nice and stable. I'm going to use some two fishes epoxy also.

I am pretty happy with how mine came out. I built arches by drilling holes and inserting acrylic rods. I have always had a wall of rock until now. Im still working on coral placement. If I could change anything I would have left some negative space and pulled the left part of the structure forward

I definitely like the second picture. If you want height later on you can always add a bit more off center.

Wish I would have ordered some pukani. This is all Fiji dry rock. I think I'm going to order some live rock to add.

I added a few pounds of Tampa Bay rock and live sand to help seed the thing. All kinds of neat stuff is showing up.

I like the first but I feel like it needs more holes in it for your fish to swim through and hide in.

This is my aquascape, it's simple. My wife like it, but I think it needs some more work. But if she's happy I could deal with it... Buajajaja!!! I been thinking on redoing it. But basically the same, two island with plenty open spaces.
