Also got a shirt!

All right, time to clean up my eight branded buckets :face-with-tears-of-joy:

So many barnacles, so much sponge, lots of bits of macro algae, couple tunicates, who knows what else buried in there.

Extremely pleased with this. The water in the buckets was crystal clear, barely any detritus left in them after I pulled the rock out. No bad smells.

I originally told myself I wanted more space and stuff between rocks, but the more I look at this the more I know my Marine betta is going to be in love once he gets to move over

Is there any reason I couldn't have a marine Betta in my tank? I don't need shrimp, I have one pistol shrimp but he needs hides all day.

I just love yours :star-struck:
They can sometimes also eat smaller fish, mine never has though - just shrimp lol

Holey Barnacles Batman... ;) :)
is that a hard coral ? kinda looks like pavona ?
I thought it felt squishy, but I could have had my hand on nearby sponge instead. I'll poke it tomorrow...

Found a decorator crab, I presume. Decorated with macro algae.

Here's better sponge colors with just the ambient room lights on.

Where else can you get excited about how rock looks without being looked at like you are a complete weirdo.

Morning update. No clicks through the night. Critters from reefcleaners order started exploring the new rock.

This guy.

Need to figure out what rock is going into the pico in place of the mini maxi rock still. No real tiny pieces from TBS.

Annoyed, my 3 delayed orders made it to town at 830am yesterday - they definitely could have delivered.

I also looked at tracking at noon and it still said "in transit" so I had no idea or I would have reached out to pick up locally instead.

Tested. Ew. No ammonia in the tank....

There was some tiny bit over the weekend.

Gonna watch all the critters this week and then maybe think about trying to move someone over.

It'll be a slow process because I don't want to tear apart the cube to get everyone.

I also don't have a lid yet so the wrasse might have awhile before they can move.

ETA approx 2 weeks based on quoted timeframe, but haven't heard a peep yet so maybe longer.

Such a exciting time/ process!!
Did tbs have different grade rocks? Did you hand pick yours? Was the rest equally nice?
I got 300lbs of vanuata rock and it's great, almost covered in coraline and supporting acros, at month 3, but it was suspiciously clean of any bugs/critters. Not a single pod that I can find. I need to see it

3 different options. Base, premium, branching. I got 20lbs branching and 70lbs each of premium and base. Everything had something on it, premium had the most life.

Not sure about pods to be honest, but definitely little crabs, the entire oceans worth of barnacles, lots of sponge. I know they harvest pretty close to pickup and have holding for them. I did request that they remove most common bad hitchhikers if possible, which may have also removed a variety of good ones in the process. I didn't even see much in the way of brittle stars but the rock is so crevassed that they could just be hiding really well in there.

When I got my TBS rock I ended up with hundreds of brittle stars, both the micro ones that stay small and ones that get larger, their arms a few inches in length. Took a little while before they felt comfortable to let their arms out of the nooks to grab food.
