Guys
I’m using triton core7 be , 16ml of part 3a and 3b = .8 kh per day usage
What’s the equivalent calcium and magnesium if it’s balanced ( which it is )
Like 10 calcium . 1 mag ?
Trying to gauge 50ppm mag by increasing daily dosing without a mag kit

I can tell you the demand balance. I do not off hand know the dosing concentration balance.

How do you know you want to increase mag?

Maths is not my strong point , currently I’m doubling the calcium and thought 5 days will be about right idk really , I’m trying to take as much guess work out as I can
I don’t care if it’s 1380-1450 so have a big window

Last icp was 1330 and read somewhere that torches like closer to 1400
It was something to rule out after losing 2 heads

I cannot imagine magnesium at 1330 ppm, which is higher than average ocean water, is a cause for a coral death.

Well after seeing a bunch of brs videos I kinda listen to them since they do all kinds of experiments and there recommendations are 9kh , 460 calcium and 1380 mag so I thought why not have a target rather than a bunch of numbers

Exactly. He has a new re started 7 month tank and euphyllia especially torches are difficult to sustain in new tanks with undeveloped biomes. I've lost torches also when my tank was young.
I still have 2 of the 4 heads after I fixed my swings so think it was more relative to that

Could be but softs and LPS can handle fluctuations much better then SPS. I think it has to do with finicky euphyllia in a new biome. I experienced the same as you early on. Now my torches have outgrown the tank basically.

All other 6 euphyllias are perfect and growing , there might be some truth in this particular torch having a short flesh band compared to the others as they were in quite a high flow

But! The 2 heads that were lost were on the backside of the flow so not sure that’s the reason either

Torches are the most difficult euphyllia to sustain in new systems. Some have success. Many hurt their wallets .
