Low magnesium

@Randy Holmes-Farley for my euphyllia that are doing ehhh (torches extending but minimally), i tested salifert magnesium after dosing AFR and received a value of 1320. I understand that the tests for mag are not always accurate, but would it hurt to dose a little magnesium to potentially boost my torch? Am I overthinking this? My tank is only 6 months old so I am wondering if the coral just wants an aged tank.

For reference , my other corals seem great. My parameters are very good on all other fronts.

Wait a minute boss, you told me to leave my 1300 mag alone and when I lost 2 torch heads you commented it’s not a mag issue

I personally do not think it is likely to be useful. 1300 ppm is already a tiny bit above the average ocean water.

But my saying so carries far less weight to someone who heard it helps than them trying it for themselves and seeing in their own tank if it is useful. For one thing, the test may be way off and perhaps it is much lower than claimed.

Since raising mag is a low risk activity, I see no reason to not do so when he asks "would it hurt" to try it.

Fair enough, in the end I left it alone since I was starting afr and wanted to see how my tank reacted to one change first
