A couple days ago I bought a few corals from a buddy of mine. One of them being this SC OP colony. I put this one in the tank with the radions and will compare it to the other SCOP I have under t5's in a couple months. It already has nice orange polyps but I expect the skin to lighten up just a little.

I believe a single radion. We tested his par a little while ago and it's lower than I keep mine. If I remember correctly it was around 200 par. I'm sure he will message me if I'm wrong, lol.

Hey Bubba, Since I'm in withdrawal from both Matt and Andrew your thread has become my new go to for acro ****. Thanks for posting all the pics. Your corals all look great and your pulling some nice colors.
Im not sure if you’re on FB but Andrew does post pics often on the coral essentials group. It’s very strange for Matt to go so long without being seen on the forum, I hope he’s okay.

Thanks for the compliment! I enjoy taking and sharing pics, so I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon! I told my wife I want a better camera, lol.

SCOP will forever be my favorite. It was the one that convinced me that it is ok to spend what some may call an insane amount of money on corals.

Ironically I don't have one...

A single radion on how big of a tank? I was thinking about changing my tank to 2 radions. 48x24x16
Im not exactly sure but I believe it’s the Red Sea Reefer 170. The dimensions of that tank are 24.5”x 20 x 20.

You are only using a single radion on a 4’ tank?

Some people swear by keeping these in high par, but the best ones I have ever seen color wise were all kept around 250 par :)

No I was going to change to 2 radion gen4 xr30s. I’m running t5s now
BRS did a video about par distribution on a 4' tank with radions. They said use 4 xr15's instead of two xr30's to get more even spread. I was worried about shading with no t5's, so I went with 3 xr15's and the aquatic life t5 fixture so I can get a little t5 action. I'm very happy so far!
Is sc still a thing? I dont think i've heard many people talk about them
I think it's a coral that will always be a thing. It's not a coral that needs blue light to look good. It seems to hold value well.

I think what changes is the body color. The one in my display has nice orange polyps but the body is a lighter shade of blue, instead of that dark blue on his colony. The display I think is getting 425~ par.

I took a pic when it almost died. I put it up high when I got it as I never had issues before, it started bleaching so I had to lower it down. It recovered and looks pretty good now, I think it's about 75% back to what it was. It reminds me of a Crown Royal bag, lol.
I have a Crown royal from Vivid. Mine kinda lost the color at first but is starting to come back so not worth shooting. Here’s Vivids pic. It’s a very fast grower so far.

When you got it did it look close to the pic?

Don't get me wrong, Vivids has very nice corals but there is something about their pics that throws me off. Their pics always have this "shine" to them that I have never seen a coral have in person. I wish they would share daylight pics instead of all blue pics. Some days I want to buy their corals just to take pics to show what they look like without that "shine". Even when I bought my confetti from them, sure it's a nice coral but it didn't "shine" like that pic he sold me of it.

Mine is getting blasted around 450 dark dark blue even in white light. I’ve heard lots of light more than less
