Bubba owns Bubba Gump Shrimp company. He's loaded! [emoji12]
"Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. There's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that's about it."

I was waiting for this one to color up more before sharing but since I was talking about frag size earlier I figured I would. This is a frag I got a few weeks ago. Granted, pirates reef charges full retail price but you definitely get what you pay for.

Pretty nice piece, no doubt.
When you got it , was it already colored up like that? and, did it already have all those pretty, new, top branches?
Also, do you mind sharing the ball park of what is " full retail price"? [ These days that could be $75.00 to $1,000.00]

Pirate's Reef has a website...you can see prices there, which I assume to be "full retail".

KJoFan nailed it. The prices on his site is what you pay, no discounts no matter how many you buy. The Sun God frag was $200.
The top of the Sun God was pretty much like that. It's everything below that, that needs coloring up. It's getting better, as it was pretty dark and now it is getting that green hue to it. Granted this frag is larger than normal but I would expect his frags to be 3/4 - 1" at a minimum. Back on post #345 you can see what to typically expect, except that ASD Rainbow milli. He gave me a discount on that one because it was "small" and I paid $60 for it.

I would say about 50% of my 60-70ish frags have all come from pirates reef. For me it comes down to quality. You get a product that’s always a 1” plus colored up with good polyp extension. That may mean you have to pay a little more but in my opinion I’ll pay more for a frag that’s gonna survive over some of these fresh cut micro frags that other vendors/ hobbyists try to sell.

Bubba-

Did you program your Gyres with the Apex or the Gyre Advanced Controller?

If you're using the Advanced Controller do you mind posting your 24h program/settings.

Thanks.

It's been like 4927 days since the last pic, I can't believe you'd leave us hanging like this haha
Lol, nobody pays attention while WWC has their live sale, so I took a break.

I use the advanced controller. The settings are: one pump is in alternating gyre mode while the other one is in anti-sync. I have them swap every 2 minutes. I have reverse flow set to 0% as I felt it was messing up the gyre from the other pump.

Is the sun god yellow and red polyps? Or does it get orange or another color in it too? I have a maricultured acro that I think is the same color and species.

This is not my pic but it's the colony mine came from.

I had a couple people ask about making the frozen food I use. This is it besides I add clams but the store was out.

Total cost was $8 and took about 10 minutes to make. I just throw it in a food processor until it is the consistency I like and then put it in a ziplock bag.

haha you can be forgiven then!

You should get scallops with the roe on as well ;) Super nutrition for the fish and they love it! I clip a whole scallop in the tank sometimes and the fish go absolutely bananas for it!

Sounds like a good idea! Unfortunately, I don't think I have ever seen them sold at my grocery store. The only scallops they had were those, sometimes they have large ones but they all look the same.

Yeah, most the time you can only get them from fish markets/mongers. For some crazy reason everyone takes the roe off, it's the best bit haha

Thanks a bunch. I originally had WAV pumps on my Reefer525XL and recently swapped them out for two 250 Gyres. The Gyres are so much better. I've been running them at 80% on the LTC. I'm going to try your settings tomorrow.
