Once my system is bryopsis free to my satisfaction I am going to share this information with my LFSs in hopes that other reefs will be saved.

Hey guys, been checking in on this thread and I'm sold. Been battling the ******* byropsis (hooray alliteration!) for a couple months and I've been able to mostly keep it at bay. Made changes to feeding, increased water changes, less light, more CUC, you name it. I bought a bottle of tech m but realized they changed the formula before it arrived. I will be heading to my LFS tomorrow to order a round of this but my big question is, do I only to do one dose of this? Like, 20ml per 1gallon just on day one and then wait? Sounds toooooo easy haha.
Does fluconazole kill any other types of algae? I have been dealing with red hair algae for over 3 years...I have tried all types of inverts to eat it. They dont eat this algae. foxface, and tangs do not eat it either.
Note: Im not talking about cyano. Its red hair algae. They look just like GHA. The only thing that kills it is peroxide. I take the rocks out and squirt peroxide on them. They turn white and die off. They keep coming back. I brake some corals everytime I do this.... I wonder if fluconazole will kill this.

Before Fluconazole treatment
4 days after fluconazole treatment
Look at the difference!! That has to make you smile!
I am not only smiling, but I am also extremely relieved.
I think it is time to buy some colonies now!
Ergosterol is the predominant sterol of fungi and green algae. Fluconizole inhibits it's enzymatic synthesis. Although the biosynthetic pathway for sterol synthesis in fungi is well known, not much has been published regarding it's synthesis in Algae. Symbiodinium may not contain lanosterol 14- α-demethylase (the inhibited enzyme), so it may be "reef safe", but there always could be a variant species. Use caution, and congrats for venturing into the world of unknown in science.
Oh yeah! I want to see that Homewrecker when you get it.
Definitely, he is the one who alerted me to this stuff!!I hope everyone is also going to @Sabellafella 's thread and giving him a shout out/props!
I had only this kind of sponges and look normal. (I just treat for two days and half)Does anyone who has used this have large sponges. I have used an antibiotic in the system (in fish food) to treat and ended up completely whiting out my sponge. It eventually came back, but now it is so large it would be devastating to lose.
I fight briopsis too. Thanks for any info.
I will just as soon as @mdbannister get's his homewrecker!
(I want one REAL BAD... in case you hadn't figured that out).
