what did you end up getting?
Bashsea 8-24. It a bit large for the current set up but I will be setting up my 180 within the next year most likely. I used one on my system before they work great. I know they have recommended pumps for certain tank sizes but in the past I found you can under power them quite a lot and still get great performance so that is probably what I will do until I do the next tank upgrade.

I read alot about those and the RK models right before I rebuilt this old MTC I am currently using. I was tempted to try one I admit, they seem like a beast.

Yeah they are. I wanted a 6-30 but they didnt have one in stock. I got it from Detriot reef club which used to be Bashseas old build facility they still do some warehousing out of it. Picked up a nice branching Duncan while I was there too.
I had the 8-30 on my last system and then got the chance at getting one of his commercial 10"X60" beasts so I though why not lol. I did have around 1200g at the time though.

My yellow wrasse jumped, he'd been in there for about 8 months with no tops on my tank, and found him the other day behind the tank all dried out. So I ordered a DIY screen frame kit from amazon and some clear netting. Note to self, I should have ordered 2 screen frame kits!

Hi, interested in the DIY screen mesh that you got from Amazon. The link doesn't work. could you point me to the product?

Thanks… btw what is your experience so far with the mxm module controlling the ecotech mp40s? I use apex as well so would be nice to have a single button to put everything into feed mode.
A little hesitant because some users report problems with connectivity with the mxm modules

I like it mostly. I have had issues with the Sync/Anti-sync modes working correctly but I'll freely admit that could be user error. It does make it really easy to copy settings from one another. I have it all loaded to my PC at home for any changes to the Neptune. Just use the app for notifications really. After using the MXM app a few times to set a schedule I find I like it better than the mobius software.

Tank just wakin up, Lights started to come up 7 minutes ago. I removed the black paint from the back of the tank. Going either a blue or a white, wanna brighten it up inside a bit.

The SPA Ozone machine I added has done wonders for water clarity :)

I have seen some really nice blue shaded backgrounds where its darker at the bottom and fades to a light blue near the top. I have never liked blue or white backgrounds but the shaded has grown on me lately.

That is kind of what I had in mind was fading from dark at bottom to light/white color at the top. I think it might lend it the illusion of great depth that way. I am gonna try hanging a white sheet behind the tank and see how I like that. My Mom does quilts so I have access to a lot of colored fabrics. Should be able to run out and see her Sunday and pick up the cloth, also going to see if she has any Royal Blue or Sky Blue or Caribbean Blue, and even Pink. Yeah I know I know, but my Sponsor suggested it so I will try it!. I can at least get an idea of what I want to do that way.

Thats a great idea! I also ran in to a youtube video a couple months back that they kinda did the same thing using construction paper to get a feel for what it might look like. The finished project was really cool they did a great job shading the actual paint it looked so good. I think I saved it if I did I'll post a link.

I love my $30 dollar Yuma's. Look at them Babies BOUNCE!! I read an article that claimed Light was the determining factor in a yuma bouncing, Chalk another point up in favor of Reefi Lab Uno's if that's true.

Nem Collection. Most face the back of the tank which annoys me, but what can ya do, they go where they want. This is one of 2 that face front.

Well, the news on my truck is as bad as it gets. Needs engine so that phase of my life has ended.

On tank news, finally some good stuff. This Sunday I am draining the tank, taking all those 40+ Mbuna's to my LFS for re-homing. I'm a little excited to get started on the retro-fit. More to come this weekend!
I’m curious why it needed a new engine? Interesting jump from blown head gasket to a water pump..

Caterpiller 14.8l Single Turbo 895CiD diesel motor serial 6TS25500. the front Structure ring gear bearing went bad, Water pump is driven off that ring gear so at first it appeared water pump failed. Air compressor, Cam, everything is driven off that gear. Thanks to what happened to our economy when this admin took office, I Lost roughly $30k out of the bank due to rising fuel costs that Freight Rates was very slow to follow. I never got that money back cuz diesel fuel went from $1.96 a gallon to over $5 a gallon in 5 months.

Then the price of everything tripled, I kid you not. The cost of everything for a truck, tires, brakes, grease, oil all of it, went up 3x. Rear Low Leaf Spring Hangers I had just replaced at $550 each went to $1500 each if you could get them. Had my truck blown up during previous admin (Trump) it would have cost $35,000to fix, as it was, with what Joe Biden did, the price tag was over $90,000 to do the motor. I did not have any money because of what happened with fuel.

I am very sorry to dip in politics here. I have a rule about that, but I am still really hurting from losing my business, my truck and my income. Making 40k a year right now working for someone else, in my mid 50's kinda sucks!
