I would say high flow in a qt tank if that is an option to prevent spread to other corals. As for melafix i have used it twice. Dosed directly into tank when i had a bad brown jelly issue. Turned off skimmer for 24 hours....big water change... skimmer on 24 hours....repeated for about 12 days. I had no negative impacts to my mixed reef tank (sps, lps, zoa, softies) Thankfully it saved all my torches and frogspawn and the majority of over 100 ricordea which all had a bacteria issue. Now melafix is part of my dip process for some types of coral.

Have you tried "chemiclean". I had the exact same problem and it took out my hammer and gonipora. I treated it with chemiclean and it took care of it right way. Its a 48 hrs treatment. But when you put the chemiclean in make sure that you turn off your UV Sterlizer and protien skimmer for those 48 hrs also go slow with your feedinds of any kind.. After 48 hrs do 40% water change and that should take care of it. This disease happened because you probably have poor water circulation. Find dead spots in ur aquarium and make sure they have good water circulation.

i was under the impression that they do not like alot of flow and they like dirty conditions? i took it out basted it in a cup so that stuff couldnt spread (no dip or any other chemicals that could help) there was only 2 tiny pieces left, the piece not attatched to the rock i put in my tank then i placed the one attatched to the rock up on top of the rock infront of one of the power heads, it had already been eaten away mostly..there was only 2 tiny pieces left, the piece not attatched to the rock i put in my tank...

this is why i dont buy rics, big waste of my money this always happens to them.
