Looking for some advise?

Brook spread over 4/5 fish over a week and quickly took them out however I have one clown which has only got bigger and brighter. This clown has remained in my tank for past 2 weeks with no sign of brook. I look to keep this fish in there for another 4 weeks before adding another clown fish as I don’t have a QT option.

I am looking for advise as to any addition suggested treatment I can take to my tank other then regular water changes and a reef safe bacteria treatment which I have made?

Note: I have a host of thriving hammerhead corals.

Thank you

Welcome to Reef2Reef!

The first thing to do is to confirm that it is indeed brooklynella. With the affected fish already dead, we can’t see video, but can you describe the symptoms and what fish died and what the timeline for it was?

Having a clownfish survive brooklynelka with no symptoms is unusual. Perhaps a video of that fish would help.

Jay

Hi Jay, slimy skin, a powered sugared like substance on the skin along with damaged fin’s. Unfortunately I don’t have a photo to hand has I have a remaining healthy clown fish in the tank.

Time line 1 month ago new clown fish started to show small volume of white slim coat however was developing very slowly. One evening to morning this grew dramatically and fun damager accrued. This spread to two though fish.

Thanks Rhys

Your description can be brook or can be ich or velvet. Need more. If brook, you will see mucus which generally starts at the facial area as well as gills and spreads across the body producing lesions as it progresses often confused with ich and can turn into secondary bacteria. Other symptoms will be lethargic behavior, erratic swim behavior, refusing to eat and heavy breathing from the mucus. Fin damage often aggression from another clown or tankmate. How do other fish look at this moment?

This is all correct started almost all fish around the eye/ head followed by gasping and sinking top tank into the flow followed by not eating towards the end.

The current clown has a week ago was stirring into the sand 1-2 times however this has stopped with not sugar coating or white appearance along with eating and growing quiet considerably over past two weeks.

I have invested in a suggested Polyplab Medic and will continue to medicate however will not add addition fish for another 4-6 weeks either way?

Polyp Lab Medic at a high price will get you no where. Its an ineffective bottle of peroxide salts and may - MAY help with very early stage ich. You want to use Ruby Rally Pro which is reef safe
