Hey guys!

Visited a friend’s house out of state this past weekend and saw that he had a reef aquarium in his room. Seeing all vibrant colors had me mesmerized. Fairly new to this hobby but I’m excited to learn and get my new tank up and running
I can't stress enough,TO GO SLOW!!! Before you start, nhave your goals outlined as to where you would want your tank on, let's say, 3 years. Then, as you start up, work towards said goal patiently and methodically. Start studying, first off, with cycling and formulate a plan of action. And move forward from there!

So Greetings and Welcome to our collective obsession!!!

Welcome to R2R. Definitely take everyone's advice and go slow. I would add buy some books and research, research, research. They are tons of used books on Ebay for just a few dollars. Look for ones by Tullock,Paletta and Sprung. Also don't be afraid to buy used equipment. There are some great deals on Marketplace.

Good idea on the books and thank you for the recommendations. I’ve already started to buy used equipment on here and saved a ton

welcome to this obsessive hobby. You can get all the info you need right here. If you dont understand cycling and never owned any freshwater aquarium, first learn the nitrogen cycle and how it is established in a marine environment. Go slow. Start with easy coral. Your tank will form its own personality but that will take months, not weeks. Be patient and get good test kits. Salifert and Hanna I would recommend.
