There are good local stores, just not for coral :/

There is a very large local aquaculture/hobbyist scene. A bunch of facebook groups, dfwmas, auctions, and other sites are doing a ton of sales here.

My favorite site right now, with some pretty good corals, nothing crazy, but amazing prices is dropoffcorals.com. Nothing better than being able to drive and grab your frags.
In March, if you come I-20 east to I-65 North and get off at exit 328, there will be a really good LFS there. ;Hilarious ;Hilarious ;Hilarious

You better wait until April because said LFS will sell out fast! ;)

Tool is the greatest rock band to exist, fight me...

Also, my 90g is close to the golden ratio. 36x24x24. A 40 breeder is also close. 36x18x16. If we multiply 24 by 1.618 you get 38.832. These tanks have always been more aesthetically pleasing to me to scape.

Example, check out how well this tank fits in with the fibonacci spiral and how pleasing it is too the eye.

"The greatest rock band to exist..." While I am a fan of Tool, claiming they are the greatest rock band to exist is quite a stretch. Although lists can be considered subjective, I do not recall ever seeing them in the top 20 of any greatest rock bands list.

Close to the golden ratio is not the golden ratio. What's that saying about horeshoes and hand-grenades? :p

Seriously, though, you do have nice looking tanks. That is when you take care of them!

Anybody getting anything cool for Christmas?

Yeah, I think I am getting a new Garmin HRM for running. Mine pooped out a few months ago and I had been looking at them but never pulled the trigger. I'm fairly certain it's supposed to be a surprise. I'm also fairly certain it will be the little kick in the tookus I need to get me more consistently running again. I do abhor winter and the cold though so any motivation helps.

Oh, wait, did you mean reef related? o_O

Mind sharing traditions? One of ours is pizza on Christmas Eve.

As some know, Katherine (Katarzyna) is Polish and immigrated here, illegally, when she was 12. It's a long story. She is all legal now so everyone just calm down.
There is a long held Polish Christmas Eve tradition called Wigilia (pronounced Vigeeleea). The link below describes it better than I can.

My ex husband was of Polish decent. I loved this dinner. His mother gave it a bit of an American spin, but I miss midnight mass and those things.

Yeah, we don't do mass or any kind of religion. I know, it's funny because it's part of the tradition. Another long story but suffice it to say we do not believe in religion.

No negative feelings here! My husband is agnostic.

I’m getting a new salinity checker and some test kits that I’m really pumped about. I really need them too because I haven’t been able to test anything in my dt for months because all my stuff got contaminated with copper.

Every Christmas Eve night, my family all goes to my grandparents house, where we all eat dinner. Then we sit and talk for hours, which is super boring since I’m a teen with the attention span of a clownfish. When the adults are all finished with that, my granddad reads “ The Night Before Christmas”, and we all go home. I really enjoy it despite the boring sitting.
