Since my acan finally recessed, I can take pics of the new heads. I think he has 3, one obvious one (might have captured aptasia on it).

I’m not sure what it is, the last two weeks I’ve finally witnessed what I think is real growth in my coral. It’s all just kind of started out no where.

My cloves are sprouting a new head every week (same with the fireworks in the frag tank)

Every candy cane polyp is splitting (I think one may even be splitting into 3?)

First sps branch split (kind of hard to see, the rightmost branch)

New blasto head (also hard to see since it’s in the shade)

Lepto is encrusting over coral crete added just 3 weeks ago:

I was certain this lepto had died two months ago after a freshwater dip. It was flush white and then algae started growing all over the tissue. He’s starting to fluoresce hard again.

I’m definitely more lucky than doing things correctly but they’re liking something. The frag tank is the same way despite all of those frags being two weeks old.

They definitely look happy.

They definitely look happy.

I think so too. Everyone is happy in there and in the frag tank. There isn’t anything that’s closing up other than when blues come on or I’m cleaning Dino out kicking up a bunch of sand.

Now if I can just figure out how to get these dang favias to start growing faster.

If anyone is ever feeling down, I have found this and other videos by this Youtuber, thoroughly entertaining. Just give it about 5-10 minutes for it to suck you into it's web...

It is wildly addicting to watch, there is a Qualifying round of videos that precludes the one I posted :)

And an outdoor one as well...

This reminds me of when you’re sitting hung over in bed on a Saturday morning and then you realized you’ve been watching How It’s Made for four hours.

In this vain, I have a barb in my freshwater tank that has jokingly been referred to as “scoliosis” for a couple of months now. (He swims sideways with his head pointed the opposite direction from where he wants to go!). His condition has recently worsened and he is clearly going to die. Is it more humane to net him (no doubt stressing him and the tank immensely) in order to give him a quick death, or just let him pass naturally?
I have put one fish down via freezing. I think you'll know what is right.
