how many times per day would yo u suggest? My marshal fulfils the task on daily basis. I'd be sick worried now if i had to tell her she'd have to do that 3x per day, BUT thank god, she dreamt for that fish for 16y before she finally got one. Will defo have to swallow that one by herself. Almost feels like hitting two birds with 1 stone now... :D

I would suggest at least 3, but you can use an autofeeder for one of the feedings.

Mine loved Tomatoes, he would graze on them all day. I heard they are bad for them though so I don't know if you would want to try it. You can use seaweed.

bloodworms it is...

The good thing with this particular fish is that it arrived to a transition tank and ate there very well, was more like chowing down everything it got. Been on a strike at my place for abt 30h now. Very active during the day and pinching the liverock constantly. Also it's a larger box, around 3" i'd say.

The bloodworms we will get tomorrow, so unless he/she starts eating brine and krill today, will have to starve for 30 more hours.

PS! Nori weed did not work, was not interested at all.

He looks nice and phat so he might just be adjusting or munching on the live rock. Give him time

Looks can be deceiving with boxfish/cowfish, they don't show skinniness quite the same way as other fish.

Now another problem, is this ick or stress spots? The fish ate well for 2-3 days, stopped today and the reason is obvious.

Suggestions as to what and how quickly should i do?

But what if he won’t eat at all? Besides my total water volume is 245g, not realistic to change 30%

Hmm.. Well you have two options,

The first would be to do a fw, pro would be it would get rid of some ich but con is that the fish will get stressed and a boxfish is the last thing you want stressed.

The second would be to qt him and preform hypo

The fish died at night, i’m guessing whatever caused, he had before coming to my tank. Was a total of 4 days there and ick only showed itself a day. Actually i’m a bit sceptical he died of ick

Unfortunately that looks like velvet to me :(. I’m sorry you lost him. I haven’t gone through the first half of the thread yet, was he in your DT? Did he share water with other fish? If so they will need to be put through QT with 30 days of either copper or CP and the DT run fallow for 76 days. 6 weeks is the standard for velvet but in case ich played a role as well then the fallow period would need to be 76 days.

Nope, he didn’t nuke the tank. If it really was velvet, i’m a toast as he was in my DT. Problem is that my tank is huge and to catch them all, it’s simply unreal. I need to detect if it was ick or velvet or something else.

Detection advice badly needed. Also if it was a velvet, how much do the others have?
