Reef Builders needs to recant this story. It’s completely false
It was probably a product promotion disguised as an article.

Yeah right 7.5ML per 10g seems like an awful lot specially if you have to do this daily.
Brightwell's website says the following:
To raise pH further without increasing alkalinity, add 2.0 ml of Boost pH+ (this product) per 10 US gallons in a high flow area such as a pump intake or a power head exhaust.

Unfortunately I purchased this product before read this topic.

Well, I dosed 50 ml of Brightwell Boost Ph+ into my 250 litres tank which should raise my Ph about 0.1 without raising Alkalinity.

I checked Alk and Ph before and after dosing by my Alkatronic. Yellow mark is where I was dose Ph+.

Sadly, this product is total scam. Save your money, dont buy it.

I'm certainly no expert, but I don't think any of that is in a bad range. If i were to use this to boost my ph to 8.13 and it raised my alk to 9.04 I'd be fine with that. 9.04 is not that high. What am I missing?

We tested this product and it raised alkalinity. Don’t believe the false marketing.

but by how much? As i said to Tom, i'd be fine with an alk level of 9.04 dkh if that's the result of raising ph to a desired level. a small bottle is only $8.99. i may give it a try and see what happens.

It’s the same effect as dosing sodium hydroxide and kalkwasser. You can use sodium hydroxide or kalkwasser to raise and maintain alkalinity and get the same pH boosting effect for cheap.
