I bet if you died from having a BRO as a pet, and had a life insurance policy it would be DENIED!! Or you better have some add on ryder insurance for the specific animal

yeah, if you take any unnecessary risks, you are dropped if they find out.

i.e. sky diving, bungie, base jumping, cliff diving, racing anything illegally, etc...

pretty sure that would fall into that category....

Getting killed by a Drunk Driver isnt exactly a life choice now is it?

Owning a poisonous animal that has no Anti-Venom - that is a choice, albeit a dumb choice.

Oh, I didn't know this discussion was about IDIOTS owning blue ring octos. Well if that's the case then yeah.... You figure a smart person would know how to not get murked by a B.R.O.

Hell, if you were dumb enough a protopaly could kill you.

Where's your argument now?

i was unaware of the proto that lurks in the shadows completely hidden and strikes with the speed of a bullet.

apparently you must have missed the video at the public aquarium where the octo (that was assumed to be an ok tank mate) ate a BIG shark.

show me a proto do this...

My argument is simple in the fact that eBay allows the sale of a deadly animal to the highest bidder. Dumb or qualified it shouldn't matter. Someone has to look out for the uninformed. Isn't this why the government creates laws and regulations? So that idiots don't hurt themselves or others?

Let me run this one by you guys...

Do you live alone, and never have company over?

kids perhaps?

Never leave town?

Lets just pretend for a minute that any of us was qualified to keep one of these little guys and we got one...

what happens when your friends are over and someone thinks it would be funny to...

or someone needs to feed the tank and opens it to feed it, and something happens?

Words to live by...Just because you can, doesnt mean you should.

If you were to own a B.R.O. and put it in a display where other people would be near it, then like anything else you use caution.

If I had a Samurai sword hanging on my wall I would be sure to make it a point that it could fall and kill someone, cut someone, etc etc so stay the hell away from the sword on the wall... Stand back and enjoy it without touching it like it was intended.. hence it being "displayed" on my wall.

Make sense?

Listing 100' of other things that can kill you on ebay would be slightly off topic.

As there was numerous posts regarding said possible list, a reminder to stay on topic was made.

If this is a problem contact me via pm to discuss.

Yes, but ANYONE can look at a sword and know the possible danger.

Plus, im pretty sure a sword doesnt attack you.

furthermore, who said keeping a sword on the wall was a good idea.

with all the octos you can keep safely, why keep the one that can easily kill you.

Bite is the word you're looking for.

Also, I'm pretty sure anyone getting an octo knows how to seal a tank. If you can't seal a tank that B.R.O. is not going to be on display at all in the first place. A sword hung on a wall has a higher chance of falling off the wall than a octopus has of getting out of a sealed tank.

No, not ANYONE can look at a sword and know the possible danger. I run a knife grinding shop that sharpens 8 foot paper cutting knives. You know how many people reach for the sharpened edge? 7/10.... So no, not everyone has common sense. Anyone OCTO keeper who has common sense is going to SEAL that tank.
