I wouldn't? I'd be concerned with the bleach killing the pump. Make sure they get entirely soaked.

I never did. I just mixed up the bleach and water and added the rock.

Thank you! Can I just use tap water for this until the final process of giving them an RO soak? Or should I be using RO for the bleach mix, the dechlorinator, and the final soak?

I'd use tap for the bleach, not sure about the dechlorinator, final rinse of RO as you said.

I know that the bleach will dissipate within 24 hours or so, but I always used a dechlorinator. It's not very much and just out of habit

I guess I'm just different, but I've always put the rock in an oven at 350F for a few hours, let it cool, then dunked it in boiling water, and let it cool. That has always seemed to work just fine for me.

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! This is very risky and potentially can kill. Palytoxin is not made by palies but by an algae that is found in a lot of places besides palies and zoas. The toxin is thermally stable so heating won't deactivate it like it does with other toxins. Also palytoxin and ciguatera toxin are the same thing.

Thank you for the help everyone. Bleach bath will commence soon! Tap water for the bleach bath, tap water for the dechlorinator bath, than probably 2x RO.DI baths/rinses for my paranoia
