Hi all,

Questions what do you guys feed your corals? What's the best food for corals with low or no phosphates trying to keep my water as clean as possible? Any recommendation would be great! Thanks!

All foods will have phosphate

Some just have less

My guess is those foods with wheat products would be low. Having cell walls as opposed to cell membranes

Anyway. I just bought some fresh salmon. Pureed it into a pink paste in the blender, and put it into a silicone icecube tray

High protein, Omega3, HUFAs, low in phosphate. DIY salmon feast

I had previously done that with frozen krill, which were too large for my animals

PE Mysis is low in phosphate, so they say. I will assume the animal frozen foods will be as well until I learn different

The powered coral foods are usually high in phosphate, Reef Roids, Reef Chili, a different I think Benereef

I just bought benereef, it supposedly does not increase the phosphates. I haven't tested it yet.
I have no way of confirming this in a controlled manner, but my phosphates actually drop when I use Benereef.

Really like the powder, going to try some of the pellets soon.

I use a mix of Reef Nutrition foods: PhytoFeast, OusterFeast, RotiFeast and PacPods. Fish like the PacPods too. Haven't had problems with phosphates.
I like the OvaFeast, the little egg food, the best

Good stuff, the Reef Nutrition stuff is. It's more expensive now than I remember. $25 for the small container

I feed that 2-3 times per day for the fish, but the corals and nems like it too.
