Hi guys, so, everything was going amazing with my tank. It was 10 gallons and had 3 clownfish, one yellow tail damsel, one watchman goby, one blue starfish, four rainbow bubble tipped anemones, and one target mandarin. It also had coral, one Duncan, one foxtail, one birds nest, one leather, a group of zoas, a group of pulsing xenias, and two corals that I don’t know the names of. For months everything was going great, I normally feed either frozen brine shrimp or this frozen food called marine cuisine. Everything in my tank loved the frozen food. But about two days ago I saw an add for this powder food that you mix with water and it turns to gel. It was called “Marine Omnivore Complete Gel Diet Fish Food”. So, I decided to try it. I followed the directions on the back about how to mix it so it turns into gel, but it always turned out watery, definitely not gel. But I put it in my fridge overnight, and it became a little firm. So, in the morning, before I went to work, I gave my fish some of the “gel” food. They didn’t seem to love it but they ate a little bit. I normally feed my fish two time a day, so when I got home from work, I gave them a little bit more of the “gel” food. The next morning I woke up to a cloudy tank and all my fish dead, except for the target mandarin and the watchman goby. All the coral and anemones were fine, just closed up. I moved everything that was alive into one of my other tanks, except for the anemones, they were on rocks that were to big to move. I changed about 70% of water in the 10 gallon tank, and as of now everything is stable. But going forward I’m definitely not going to be feeding any different foods. I lost my beautiful starfish, clownfish, and yellow tail damsel because of this food.
