Almost forgot about the contest! 2 Battleboxes in 10 days can do that to a reefer;)

I'll get a pic up tomorrow for sure. Mine seems to have stalled out. Again. But that's ok. I have faith in this purple stick!

Technically tomorrow will be six months but close enough :)

Oh, was working on the tank the other day and noticed the MP40s were at max speed; I must have done this when we moved and forgot about it. No sense in lowering it back down...

I'm in if there's another. The vivid frag I got 2 months ago is still laying down a base with minimal vertical growth.

Today marks the end of the contest for me as I've had my frag for 6 months now. Hasn't really done much during that time. I'm just glad I kept it alive really. I'll get a pic up shortly. Working on some finishing touches in my garage;) Had the walls insulated and drywalled, then the floor was coated a few days a go. Moving everything back into place:)

I completely forgot to chime in, it's been a busy summer. But, I lost this frag and many others when I went on a long weekend trip. My tank sitter (wife) didn't refill my ATO. I came home right about the time the return pump started sucking air. They just didn't care for that salinity swing.

Make sure to post your pics! There already has been 7 people who missed their final pic. If you received your coral in January you have to post your pic by the day you received it in January .

Got mine in. Just hope this frag keeps trying to do...what ever it's trying to do, lol.

This is an interesting read as well, especially the note about new tanks.

@Josh Kraft

Just catching up on a previous discussed issue with your high tin in the tank.
Did you do a Hydrogen peroxide treatment or dosages of it a while back???

Working on something, I came across the fact that cheap produced Hydrogen peroxide uses a Tin based compound as a stabilizer which could lead to elevated Tin in theory.

Let me know ;-)

Kind of. Below is what I used.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013KMNCJU/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Three times I made a solution of 1g per 10ml of water and put the solution on algae, let it sit for 10 minutes, then siphoned out the film it creates on the algae. That seems like such a small amount to raise my tin level though.

So you used that in the display?
I will try to find out what is in there and reverse engineer how much Tin is in this stuff likely.
The amount you did use in case you did it in the display "could" be quite high concerning Tin supplementation. Would need to find out more and let you know.

Anyways, don't use that in the tank..... my $0.02 !!!

I did use that in the display, but like I said, a minimal amount. I highly doubt that has tin in it, but if you could figure out the amount, I'd be interested. I haven't used it since I've done water changes. But I haven't had the time to do them based on what you originally said (pasted below).

So far I've done 2 - 25G water changes, and 1 10G water change. Where do you think my tin would sit now? Total volume (before rock/sand/equip) is 93G.

Below is what you calculated for me.

10 WC @25% will get you down to 5 microgram/L
14-15 get you below 2 microgram/L

# Before WC WC % After WC
1 94 25 71
2 71 25 53
3 53 25 40
4 40 25 30
5 30 25 22
6 22 25 17
7 17 25 13
8 13 25 9
9 9 25 7
10 7 25 5
11 5 25 4
12 4 25 3
13 3 25 2
14 2 25 2
