The growth rate isnt all that abnormal for a lot of fresh cut acropora frags. Some grow like weeds but most like to throw down a strong base before they grow vertically. You can crown a six month "winner" and then just extend the contest to one year.
I would love to do another contest!4 more days makes 6 months since I received frag. Sure did go by fast!
Anyone down for another grow out contest?
And happy 4th of July to everyone!

Make sure to post your pics! There already has been 7 people who missed their final pic. If you received your coral in January you have to post your pic by the day you received it in January .
@Josh KraftThis is an interesting read as well, especially the note about new tanks.

@Josh Kraft
Just catching up on a previous discussed issue with your high tin in the tank.
Did you do a Hydrogen peroxide treatment or dosages of it a while back???
Working on something, I came across the fact that cheap produced Hydrogen peroxide uses a Tin based compound as a stabilizer which could lead to elevated Tin in theory.
Let me know ;-)
So you used that in the display?Kind of. Below is what I used.

Three times I made a solution of 1g per 10ml of water and put the solution on algae, let it sit for 10 minutes, then siphoned out the film it creates on the algae. That seems like such a small amount to raise my tin level though.
