Got my LED, it's really cool how you can control it from the iPhone. I got everything cleaned and started the stand Tuesday. I also got a RODI unit from @Reefrookie220 and bought some new filters for it. I hope to have the stand done next week, but since I'm having a buddy help in his wood shop, I'm on his time. I got Red Sea test kits for trites, trates, cal, alk, pH, phos, and mag. I plan to turn my hob overflow into an HOB "Herbie" style overflow. It's wide enough for me to drill another drain in it. The only thing I have to do now, aside from finish the stand, is get some sand and some salt, then fill 'er up.

That's awesome news Joey, glad to see your coming along.....but uhhh PICS! Lol.

I'm anxious to see how the prime covers your tanks footprint.

Also I'll be in Knoxville tomorrow at aquatic marine. If you want this salt lol. I promise wel will get together eventually.

And as soon as your cycled I got a couple frags with your name on them.

Drawer/shelf that will be hidden when not in use.

This is what the outside will look like. It's tongue and groove. It will be painted a teal blue color to match the bar that is in the dining room. The tank will be in the dining room too.

That's all the pics I've got right now.

No idea right now. I'm not sure how to do it to get the most real estate and best flow.

I like it! Looks classy.

Did you ever decide on sand? I used CaribSea arag alive Hawaiian black for my latest build. I've never had black sand before and wasn't sure if I'd even like it. But Dave @cee has black sand and I think it looks bad butt in his tank. Bada bing, now that the tank is up and running, I couldn't be happier. This stuff looks amazing!

Anyway, I have two extra 20 lb bags. I wasn't sure how much I was going to need, but Kinny @parroki, (in all his infinite wisdom) ordered me two extra 20 lb bags. I really don't think I'm going to use them. If you're interested, I'll let Kinny know, I'm sure he will sell them to you.

Thanks. It took awhile but I like it. Now to paint. I have pretty much decided on normal sand. I've only ever seen one tank with black sand that I liked.

Check my build thread
If it's the 150 reef savvy build thread then I've seen it. I can't get a good idea of it from the pictures.
Are there know issues with algae more with black sand? How is it with ph? Donyiunsay was to turn your lights up anymore than with white sand? Does it make coral colors pop more?

I think it looks pretty good Joey!

If it were me though, I would drop a few of the bigger pieces on the concrete to bust them up. Then I would use putty and glue to build a real bad butt custom piece.

Got everything finished up and plumbed. I'm having trouble dialing in the return to overflow ratio now. I drilled my HOB overflow to make it a Herbie style overflow. I'm not sure if I should T the return to dial it down or what. Anyone have any suggestions?
