Coral Care

also get an ugly light that requires even more wires for a control box, has even worse mounting options than the straton, and sub acceptable par at anything other than white.

I’ll take the one year warranty

Realizing that most people tend to that whatever they have are the best ever, I have had Radions, Orpheks and Kessil in the past. These lights blow them away. Period.

I don't agree. I have a kessil/T5 combo that's better. I had the stratons (2) and returned them. They are nice but they have some downsides.

So I think I have settled on the stratons. My tank is 60x26x21. I was thinking two would be sufficient but if I wanted T5 like coverage for the whole tank would I need three?

Two will cover you with lower light coral on the ends, if you want no shadowing 3 is best. I would also say it depends on what your tank goals are, end to end SPS I would go with 3 or you can just start with 2 for now for some cost savings and see how it goes with PAR mapping and coverage.

I agree that 2 would be a good start. I have 3 over a 72 and it is more than enough. These are great lights.

Anyone found a way to make these go up and down safely over a tank?

I’ve been tinkering with the idea of a lift as it sure looks like it’ll be super annoying to have the entire tank surface covered.

I have not yet put together anything that I want to hang over my tank... 3 of them 18” out from the wall is a LOT of moment

for those of you who mounted them from ceiling how much does it affect your access?
Heres my solution on my new build Ive just started

Anyone have a schedule for these lights on mixed reef setting?

I run LPS/SPS with less red, I run my 2 end lights lower for LPS. It won't allow me to upload the file here.

Is that 10 hours at 90% with 1 hour ramp up and down?

Front sections come on at 8 am using fluorescent until 9:45 am turning to custom @91%, 6:30 PM starts ramping back down until 8:30.

Each section is just staggard by 15 mins. Fronts on at 8 am, rears off by 9 pm. That is 4 total lights
