Chicago suburbs, tap water about 150-155tds. I have a 75gpd Dow Filmtec membrane, which reduces tds to 5-6. Making about 200 gals per week, the single DI canister lasts about three months. I like your idea of adding second DI canister, so I added in early December, we’ll see how it goes. Good article, thanks for the idea.

Please explain? Oh, I think you’re referring to the Spectrapure 90 membrane. Do you know if this would require a different capillary restrictor (versus my current 75gpd)?

Instead of adding a second DI canister, you could upgrade your membrane and bring your TDS down between 0-1

That was what I was hinting at and yes it would need a new restrictor as it's a different GPD than your current membrane. FWIW even replacing it with DOWs newer membranes would greatly reduce your TDS coming out. I just always suggest spectrapure because it's a brand I trust and know will perform the way they say it will.:)

I asked about restrictor, because I see some restrictor’s are rated in a range of 75-100gpd.
