The skimmer clip worked like a charm, but I'd come home from work and the water level would be totally different. I wouldn't know if it was saltwater that had been added or if the ato dumped a bunch of freshwater. Such a pain, I'm not sure if a sump would've been easier or not lol.
I nearly pulled the trigger on a clearance fiji cube sump that had a filter roller built in for $180 on BRS. I just didn't have time to take on emptying the tank and cutting out the acrylic wall then plumbing in an overflow. Would have been sweet though. Sump is Def better than this slimline aio section.

Agreed about the aio. Could the fiji sump be plumbed like the canister filter with the intake and output hoses used in the aio chambers? I honestly don't know bc I've never used a sump, but I like the idea of this canister filter.

You would just buy a hob overflow and pvc plumb it in then another pvc return line to hang on as well. Plus you pick up 3 in of swim/rock space if you get rid of the aio section. A lot of work and most people say just buy a new tank lol

Before trays are put in in use fibers to line the bottom.Bottom and middle tray I use aquatic expert filter floss. I also put my media in those trays. Top tray I use sunjojo filer pad and my chemical media. I use one layer for each tray. The return is I guess technically in the first chamber the picture I

attached was during a deep clean so I moved the return to the middle. No issues w ato or clogging The reason I am having to change frequently is due to my negligence. For the last few months I have been slacking on water changes and with the skimmer+ water pump failure I really started to notice how poorly my tank was doing. It's really helped improve the quality of the tank again with small amounts of spot cleaning and concisnt maintenance.

Do you need much room between the tank and the wall for the hoses? Or can you do it on the side walls of the chambers. I didn't leave myself much room between the tank and the wall.

I did the same thing and was able to do a large water change and slowly carefully slide the stand forward to give myself more room.

That is a good idea, actually. I'm due for one soon. I didn't even think about that when I set the tank up originally. I could barely get my light on it lol.
