I have been doing it for years, no more interest in my area.
I have sadly noticed the same thing in my area. Of course it could just be that I'm only now starting out. Maybe I just haven't found the circle down here yet. I am really happy to have joined r2r. You all have been so gracious sharing your knowledge. (I think Luis is right about your biocube, amazing!)

I appreciate the tips on the Cleanup crew. You guys were 100% correct about nassarius snails for the sandbed. I was surprised by how well they are keeping it turned over. I've added a couple of new corals today. I found a little hammer that has long polyps (kind of torch like). And I grabbed my first couple of zoas to see if they like my tank.

Of course they will like your tank, zoas are strong, each zoa is different and in each tank they behave differently, my zoas like to be high up on the rocks but many people keep them down, they adapt very well to all environment

I'll definitely try to figure out what they like best. I started one colony on the sandbed and one just a little higher. I'll adjust them based on what they like. The other colony has several colors. LFS had a sale going today, I got lucky.

I keep my zoa garden on an island.

That's a great idea, due to my lack of knowledge I put my zoas on my main rock, I don't regret it lol but it's a great idea to create a separate island for them, when my friend gave me the tank I still hadn't found R2R or my mentor Kevin but little by little we will see what comes out of my tank lol

I try to keep anything that has the ability to spread where I might not want it isolated on an island.

A popular place! I love the way the polyps flow in the current. Looks like the tuxedo is already hard at work!

The tuxedo has been working since the first moment I put it in the tank, thanks for the recommendation Kev!

That is the first thing your eyes are drawn to. Is that a piece of live rock you've started with to make the island?

I started with live rock but I think that was an old piece of live rock ( no longer alive) from when I tore down my tank 10 years prior.
