This is my first order with AquaSD. I am sure most of the US is aware that a hurricane is impacting the majority of FL today. AquaSD contacted me yesterday about swapping out a frag and I let them know it is not the best time as I am preparing for a hurricane. I asked to hold the order until the hurricane passes but they processed a store credit and proceeded to ship yesterday anyway. Needless to say the package has been delayed due to Helene. I am disappointed a business would be this careless about the animals they are shipping and proceed with shipping orders to the southeast during a major hurricane.

Hello!

We monitor the UPS service alerts page daily: UPS Service Alerts. Additionally, we receive email notifications from UPS regarding any potential issues as soon as they arise.

I see that your order was shipped on Wednesday and delivered on Friday. When importing coral, the typical transit time is two to three days, so I’m confident that your corals are in good condition. We haven't received any reports of dead on arrival (DOA) corals, but please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any concerns. We’re always here to help!

Moving forward, we will take extra precautions regarding order holds. However, I’d like to note that we didn’t receive a request to hold the order until 5:59pm. UPS picks our packages up around 5pm. I apologize for not being able to accommodate your request.

Thank you for your understanding!

At 3:17pm I said we are preparing for a hurricane. Not sure why you edited out that important part of the conversation. Shipping during a hurricane is irresponsible nevermind the lack of understanding that people will have other things to do to assist the community rather than accept a delivery after the storm. A generic email response for monitoring UPS alerts would work for high temps but we are taking about a major hurricane here.
