Will install this on a 180G. My return pump is Vectra M2 and probably flowing 800-900 gpm... I have a manifold as well. Should I run the UV from the return pump or get a whole new pump?
BRS said to do it through he return pump for "closed loop"... rather than running it from the sump.

Would like to run about 700-800 gpm on the UV.

If new pump, which one?

I’ve always tried to keep the electricity consumption from my tank as low as possible. For me, that would make adding an unecessary pump the less appealing option. Running the UV off your existing return pump will cost you some friction loss (how much depends on the actual UV unit). Doing the UV on a closed loop, presumably through the sump, also means a higher % of water gets reprocessed. Main return is a better option IME. That’s how I run mine.
