Hi Joseph ,great set up.How did you do the o2 injection thru the closed loop?I have been a fan of random o2 overload in a system for purification but have not seen a diy system for this.
Thanks Ron

Ron,

Thanks. The air injection is done as shown in the following photo. Note that the controller turns the air pumps on for only a one minute duration but multiple times per day. When the air is turned off, water is pulled through the injection system from the prefilter positioned acrylic cylinder. While this design may appear complex, it's actually simple and done so to prevent the need for electronic valves and for the fact that air can still be pulled through an air pump when in an off state.

Joseph.

That's some real enginuity Joe-trying to understand how the water stops from returning to the air pumps,my brain is not taking in the cylinder concept but I assume some type of check valves could work?? Sorry if it's a dumb question.

Check valves could be used but in my system, once the air pumps turn off, there's no siphon effect. The white, air feed lines which are connected to the acrylic cylinder are routed above the tank so the air in the lines prevent back-siphoning.

Thank you very much but it's more a month for my tank and the beauty of the inhabitants. I just give them water and watch 'em grow. ;)

Hey Joe- where do you get the mesh for the top of your tank- I'm tired of my wrasses leaping and I really like your idea.
