Hey,
Do you attribute the coral growth and color to a very low fish load? How often do u feed the fish?

Thank you all very much. I appreciate your kind words.

Chris,
I feed relatively heavily, daily. I alternate between nori (seaweed) and a conglomeration of frozen foods with micro-food suppliments every other day. Rather than a low fish load, I would attribute good coral growth more to lighting, flow and plenty of calcium additions. ;) The later I struggle to maintain for the large amount of calcium-uptake coral colonies and clams.

Joseph.

That is a GORGEOUS tank! Can you tell me more about this:

Did you build it?

Thanks!

Congrats weatherson!

I noticed in your interview questions:
If you could go one place on earth where would it be?
Great Barrier Reef.

What would you do (activities, etc.) while there? :D

Thanks again everyone.

Mark,
My door is always open to fellow reefers. All I ask is that you take frags when you leave. ;)

Poseidon,
That's the sinusoidal valve I designed and built based on a design I had seen many years ago. That design was flawed in that it had a sealed shaft whose seal never worked well. It's attached to my main return line and diverts the flow between three different outlest. Those can be seen in the full tank shot at the top/middle. There's a drum of UHMW (white) which turns within driven by a megnetic drive system connected to a 1RPM motor. As the drum turns within, the channels are opened and closed and have a slight overlap between each. You can see the parts build as well as some more details at...

That's a silly question. Obviously, I'd do what any other sane person would do at the Great Barrier Reef... ride in a glass bottom boat! :D That getting into a thin rubber skin and dancing with the sharks I'll leave to you. ;)

Thanks again everyone.

Joseph.
