Things to assist in fish recovery:

Stabilize the Environment: Ensure that the tank's water parameters (temperature, pH, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate levels) are stable and within the appropriate range for a reef aquarium.

Provide High-Quality Nutrition: Offer a variety of nutritious foods that are easy for the Tang to digest. Mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and high-quality marine fish pellets can help. Soaking the food in a vitamin supplement like Selcon can boost the fish's immune system and overall health.

Reduce Stress: Minimize disturbances in the tank and maintain a calm environment. Ensure there are plenty of hiding places and low-stress areas for the Tang.

Observe and Adjust: Keep a close eye on the Tang's behavior and health. If it shows signs of improvement, continue with your current care routine. If it worsens, consider consulting a marine veterinarian for further advice.

Consider Quarantine: If the Tang's condition doesn't improve or worsens, you might want to set up a quarantine tank with ideal salinity and water conditions to closely monitor and treat it.

Regular Calibration: Moving forward, regularly calibrate your refractometer with a 35ppt calibration solution to ensure accurate salinity readings. This can prevent similar issues in the future.

It's encouraging that the Tang is still swimming and alert. With continued care and attention, there's a good chance it can recover. Don't be too hard on yourself—mistakes happen, and the important thing is that you're taking steps to correct it and improve the situation for your fish.
