Had one on my 46 and it ran like a champ. Good pumps for the price.

I have never used the night sensor, never saw a benefit. I have the wp25 series but believe it's the same for the night sensor. Try shining a flashlight on it and then off, see if it works that way. The wp series had some faulty sensors if I recall..

I used wp25 for 2 years and switched to rw8 about 3 months ago. My only complaint is the timing on C mode doesn't stay consistent. Instead of one always on and one always off it will get out of time. I just put them both on one side turned to H and created a gyre instead. It would be really nice to have them stay in time to put one on each side and have an alternating gyre.

I used 2 rw-8 on my 55 gallons for a few months and they were stronger than I wanted. I could only use 1 mode and they switch back and forth. Both runs at the same time would cause too much flow for my 55 gallons. They were good IMO. don't know long term usage. Many people I know like them btw

I have two of them in my 40. Currently they're running on constant mode speed 5
