The lower right ones

Ones in center have no verms due to space competition

A few of the spiky polyps we can see is a completely bizarre elongated form, so the mass could overgrow the verm

Makes me wonder if verms abandon those shells beforehand, I think they're secretion tubes meaning no disconnect

Feeling optimistic, I currently have 4 peppermint shrimp and I picked up 3 more emerald crabs for a total of 4. I think I'm starting to fight back on the war with the hydroids without the use of chemicals, seeing some improvement. The pic I believe is the work of the urchin today, cleaned all the way to the rock.

How many do you have? When I had one, it didn't seem to do anything, I never saw it. I bought 3 more and I see them all the time now. I'm really not sure if they are eating the hydroids or not but I do believe the hydroids are disappearing and I do see the shrimp as well as the emerald crabs picking at the rocks.

I see them all the time, just don't see them eating the hydroids.
