I heard a story the other day of where the phrase "suck it up" comes from. Not sure if it's true, but this person suggests it's a piloting term. When the fighter pilots are getting intense up there, they have to wear oxygen masks. Well, sometimes you get sick while doing crazy maneuvers, and you can't exactly take off the oxygen mask so....
100% true. I saw a WWII documentary show and it started with WWII pilots.
