hey everyone i’m new here and new to the hobby. i just purchased 3 zoa frags about 2 days ago and realized there was some bubble algae that hitchhiked around the stalks. today, i decided to pluck them off outside of my tank (without having them pop of course) but after doing more reading on bubble algae i learned that if there was already an appearance then it will come back if you don’t remove the root. Since i wasn’t 100% sure they were all gone which were hiding at the base i decided to apply a 50/50 solution of hydrogen peroxide with tank water directly on to the affected areas with a syringe. I let them all sit for a couple minutes out of water so the polyps are able to develop a slime coat and decrease my paranoia with hurting them. Some polyps quickly turned pale and formed some thick bubbles at the tips upon application of the 50/50 solution and i can’t tell if i just killed my new zoas or if they’re just extremely ticked. Sorry for the long message, here is a picture.
